Kadha Parayum Theruvoram - a Street Symphony

"Each penny you throw out into their hands
Soaks the face of our new India
with blood,sweat and tears
More get plunged into those dark alleys...
And the sad tale goes on... and on..."

Child beggers - they are not just hapless children, but the pawns in the hands of a bigger mafia; much bigger than our wildest of imaginations, who eat up and thrive on the coins you throw out to those tiny hands.

For the first time in the history of Malayalam cinema, a film sparks the drive to end the torture of those tiny tots living in the dark and opens up a new ray of hope for them with the support of Balagokulam - the children's organization on a mission to end atrocities against children and to promote their cultural, personal and intellectual development creating world citizens who will be the torch bearers of the unstoppable Indian renaissance in this century.

Kadha Parayum Theruvoram is a film of highest standards; something in the genre of Slum dog millionaire matching any movie produced any where in the world in recent years. It is not a so called 'award' movie but a truely inspirational tale of four street boys who dream to make it big; who has the guts to struggle and escape from the clutches of the child begging mafia, to learn and to earn a living for themselves. The film visualises their spirited struggle against all odds to see the sunshines of life and how they succeed themselves and motivates hundreds of others.

Kadha Parayum Theruvoram is written and directed by Sunil who directed the evergreen blockbuster Maanathe Kottaaram which catapulted Dileep to stardom and several commercial hits like Gandhari, Bharanakoodam, Chanda, Vrudhanmaare Sookshikkuka and so on. Script and dialogues are by Sarjulan. The music is fabulous with Ramesh Narayan at his best. The star cast include Kalabhavan Mani, Padmapriya and novelist Punathil Kunhabdulla playing important roles. Three hundred children support the central characters played by Javed, Aakash, Abhinav, Amith and Mahek who deserve a loud applause for their splendid performance which is nothing but phenomenal.

The previews of the film were held at Delhi and Trivandrum for selected audience which included union minister Valayalar Ravi and members of parliament and the response has been tremendous. The audio release was done by Mr. M.A Baby in Trivandrum last month and the songs are already on the hit charts.

This film deserves to make it big and has the stuff to do that, but for a film without superstars it needs tremendous support from all quarters to surge ahead. Do watch this film in theatres with your children and family and we are sure you will bring your dear and near to the theatres once you see it. The film will be the greatest gift you can offer your children and we promise you a flabbergasting two hours which they will cherish their life.

See this film and blog your opinion. Last but not the least, 25% of the collection of this film will be spent for the rehabilitation of child beggers.

Kadha Parayum Theruvoram comes to cinemas near you on July 31st. See you there!!!
